So if you're buying an older/used iPhone and just care about getting iOS 27, the cutoff is basically iPhone 11.
There is one important catch though. iOS 27 support does not mean you get all the AI features. Apple's new Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features require iPhone 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max or iPhone 16 and newer. If you're thinking about buying a cheap used iPhone, I'd probably treat iPhone 13 as the practical minimum in 2026, rather than the iPhone 11, because it should have considerably more software life left.
